Central Coast Council has been named a finalist in the “Marketing and Communications for Impact Award” category in the Banksia Foundation’s 34th National Banksia Sustainability Awards.

In response to feedback from local community members, Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart, has asked Council’s CEO, David Farmer, to pause negotiations between Council and any prospective owner of the commuter carpark at Woy Woy train station until after the NSW State Election.

At the 28 February Council meeting, Council staff provided an update on the Gosford waterfront’s revitalisation project, and a comprehensive engagement report was tabled which expanded on the preliminary engagement report released in December 2022.

Central Coast Council is inviting businesses, community groups and event organisers to propose an event, or activity to be a part of the annual 10-day Lakes Festival program celebrating the Coast’s diverse waterways.The Lakes Festival, scheduled to run from 3-12 November 2023, is an annual reminder of the variety of lakes and waterways available on the Central Coast.

The Central Coast’s longstanding reputation as a tourist hotspot shows no signs of abating with the region proving a popular holiday destination for visitors during what was a picture-perfect summer.

Detailed planning for Wyong and Tuggerah is well underway with extensive public consultation beginning from Friday 10 February.The Wyong District Place Plan applies to the Wyong and Tuggerah town centres and surrounding areas and will align current and future projects with the needs and aspirations of the local community.

Council has started construction of the new skate park and pump track at Kariong Oval which is designed for a range of ages, abilities, and wheels.

Central Coast Council is currently exhibiting its draft Plan of Management for Council Community Land and is seeking comments and feedback from the Central Coast community about what the 2,000 community land parcels across 400 sites should be used for.  The five categories which can apply to community land are:   General community use  Sportsgrounds  Parks  Culturally significant sites  Natural area:
