Improving safety on Woy Woy RoadCentral Coast Council has secured $1.6 million from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program to deliver targeted safety improvements on Woy Woy Road at Kariong.This funding will support upgrades designed to reduce the risk of serious crashes and improve safety for all road users.Woy Woy Road is one of the Central Coast’s busiest routes, with around 20,000 vehicles using the road each day.

West Gosford major sewer rising main partial replacementProject overviewCentral Coast Council Water and Sewer have engaged Eire Constructions Pty Ltd to deliver a $21.2M upgrade for existing sewer rising main infrastructure in West Gosford.The rising main has greatly deteriorated due to poor soil conditions, rupturing twice in the last 5 years and causing harm to surrounding sensitive environments.These upgrades will require the replacement of a section of the sewer rising main from the back of the Gosford Racecourse along Narara Creek, following the creek through Gosford Golf Course, and finishing at the Gosford Men’s Shed within the Gosford Showground carpark.Project detailsWhy is this project happening?The current steel sewer pipes are nearing the end of their lifespan and pose a high risk of failure.

10-Year Road Renewal ProgramExtra $20million funding planned for Council’s road renewal programTo improve road conditions and address infrastructure backlogs, Council has allocated an extra $20million over the next four years in road renewals.This funding will fast-track road renewals across 23 suburbs that you told us were important and brings our total 10-Year Road Renewal Program investment to over $400million, ensuring safer, sustainable roads for the future.Road renewal works include resurfacing and rehabilitation, providing long-term solutions as part of the full life cycle of road maintenance and management.

Construction for the final stage of the Magenta Shared Pathway to link pedestrians and cyclists from North Entrance towards Toukley is now completed.

Central Coast Local Roads Package 2024Central Coast Council has received $40 million from the Australian Government to deliver a Central Coast Local Roads Package, following a 2022 Labor election commitment. The funding package will see the delivery of 46 individual projects to be carried out over a four-year period, from 2023/24 to 2026/27.Projects will involve 45 Road Pavement Upgrades and one Road and Drainage Upgrade which will benefit roads across the Central Coast.
